A Year in Cuba

Reuters photographer Alexandre Meneghini has spent the past year documenting the lives of Cubans. He has captured images of students, athletes, farmers, performers, and workers in the Caribbean nation during a time of transition. Starting in 2013, Cuban officials began having secret talks with the United States, and this summer, the two nations resumed formal relations. The U.S. embassy in Havana reopened in August for the first time in half a century. [36 photos total]
